Client Success Story - How Josh Lost 20lbs+ and Changed His Mental Outlook

When Josh started training with me, he was tired of banging his head against the wall.

He’s a busy father of 3 and had recently gone through some really difficult life circumstances.

He had made GREAT fat loss progress on his own.

But he had hit a plateau and was frustrated. He wasn’t sure what he was doing wrong or what he needed to do to keep moving forward.

He had been dieting VERY hard for a long time.

So what did we do?

  • We continued his fat loss phase but optimized his diet and training program.

  • When he started getting burned out and calories got VERY low, we took a break. At that point he has lost an additional 20lbs with me on top of his previous progress.

  • His weight rebounded a little, which is what we WANTED. We wanted his body to recover. He was lifting weights 3x per week, so fat regain was minimal.

  • Once the break was over, we pushed again, and he dropped to his lowest weight.

  • Progress stalled a bit with very low calories. We decided to focus on gradually working calories back up to allow for more recovery AND for muscle gain.

Now that he’s had an extended muscle gain phase and diet break, we’re ready to push again.

The most important part of Josh’s journey?

The mental transformation.

  • Less fear of food. Less fear of changes on the scale. Better stress management.

  • His girlfriend is noticing his increased muscle and more defined stomach.
